“We are a small team at a short-term, residential behavioral health treatment center for teen girls. Tired, burned out, and discouraged are words that often come up in our culture. Having Elisa and Kimberley come out and speak at our staff retreat was like re-inflating a balloon with the fresh air of the Holy Spirit. The way they walked us through strategies in unity, maturity, and growing up more into Christ was so gentle and full of love. We learned how to disciple each other in making an exchange of false beliefs with Gospel truths and how to contend with each other for victory in those areas.  As a team, we learned more about each other through those moments of Divine Exchanges as they revealed deep areas of pain we each carry personally. Our lack of trust with each other and self-protection has hindered our unity as a team and held us back from what God is wanting to do on mission with us. God was so faithful to put on their hearts the exact things we needed to hear as a staff. What they shared was very timely and aligned with the trajectory we have felt God taking us in our culture in this season. “I began working with Fernando and the Refuge Center two years ago. My walk with Jesus at the time was very new to me. I was uncomfortable praying, especially in public, and I wasn’t quite sure what my identity in Christ was.  Fernando led me and another believer through the Triad program, where I was thrown into the Word, with modern-day conversation and application to life, answering some of the most difficult questions, such as who we are in Christ. I’ve learned so much through this experience with Fernando. His ability to display the love of Christ and help us learn to speak with God to get answers is something I’m forever grateful for.  I also went through Soul Care with Fernando, which was an intimate and deep dive into the problems and issues we’ve all experienced in life that could have lasting scars if never addressed. I’ve experienced so much healing and obtained so much peace and contentment that I’ve suggested this program to many other folks looking to explore their faith.”-Nick

“The Lord has used The Refuge Center Team, along with their ministry partners, to breathe fresh hope into our family. They have walked with my husband and me, teaching us to partner together in learning the Lord’s intent for our marriage and kingdom partnership as we raise our seven children. They are helping my husband and I mature in our identity in Christ and helping us call forth our children’s identities, growing the unity within our family for the sake of the Kingdom. Kimberley Lee meets with our children once a week for Bible Literacy class, growing their understanding of the heart of God and teaching me how to lead my family.
